Our Story

Natural Habitat Candle Co. started in 2018 in our tiny one-bedroom apartment.

At the time, I had a collection of half-burned candles I loved the smell of but couldn’t actually burn without getting a headache. So Cory and I decided to try making our own. Something we could burn in our home without all the stuff we didn’t want.

What started with a little online candle kit turned into something we never expected.

We spent countless nights testing scents, tweaking recipes, and creating blends until we had candles we genuinely loved. We started sharing them with close friends and family, and the feedback was better than we ever expected. Eventually, we worked up the courage to apply to a few local farmers markets.

And somehow, the rest really is history.

Over the years, Natural Habitat has grown from that tiny apartment into a full-time family business. Our candles are still hand-poured in small batches, our scents are still chosen, blended, and tested by us, and we’re still just as excited when someone finds a scent they absolutely love.

The fact that people continue to choose our candles for their homes, give them as gifts, and come find us at markets year after year means more than we could ever put into words.
